Gill Briefs Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) President On 2010 Games Preparation

Sports Minister MS Gill on Tuesday assured Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) President Michael Fennel that the government would do everything to make the 2010 Games, scheduled in the capital, a grand success.
In a meeting also attended by Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President Suresh Kalmadi, Gill had a detail discussion with the visiting CGF president, updating him on venue construction, hiring of modern technology and broadcasting arrangements. "The government has set up a monitoring mechanism at the highest level to review the preparations periodically. Works, including upgrading of the stadiums, hiring of modern technologies and equipments are also under progress," Gill told Fennel. He assured the CGF official of the government's whole-hearted support for the event and said a monitoring mechanism has been put in place at the highest level to review the preparation.
