The hospital will emphasise on two basic principles--providing the best medical care in India and making this care available to those who cannot afford it. "The hospital will provide state-of-the-art facilities without compromising on quality healthcare services even for the poor patients," says Dr Ratta. Since there are very few centres which conduct liver transplants, kidney transplants, bone marrow transplants for children, this super-speciality centre will emphasise on these particular treatments. Dr Rajesh Balakrishnan an IVF expert, who will head the obstetrics and gynaecology departments said, "As a practicing obstetrician, I have always felt an acute need for a dedicated women's centre that addresses all their medical requirements under one roof."

Though the project is still in its brainstorming stage, the founders of this ambitious project will give special stress on community health, whereby the poor and needy patients can access state-of-the-art treatments without discrimination. "A special trust will be set up to finance quality treatments for all needy patients," asserts Dr Ratta. In fact, the most noble aspect of this centre, according to Dr Ratta, is that the entire profit generated, will be internalised for this special trust and the developments of the departments.
