Pune Special - Top Guns: Hot Shots

Though Pune is not the HO of any of the Big Five of Indian IT services, companies such as Zensar, KPIT Cummins or Persistent can become tomorrows Infys or Wipros
Rajneesh De How would you gauge the position of a city in the IT services pecking order? While the positions of Bangalore or NCR (Gurgaon included) are secure amongst the top echelons, it becomes more difficult to rate a city like Pune. One acceptable parameter could be to track whether the city boasts of tier-1 or at least tier-2 IT
While Pune might still be some distance away from having a tier-1 player (Tech Mahindra is excluded from the list since its corporate HO was in Mumbai till a little time back), the trio of Zensar Technologies, KPIT Cummins Infosystems and Persistent Systems have ensured the city's pre-eminence amongst tier-2 IT service providers. Add to it the fact that even biggies like TCS, Infosys and Patni have significant presence in the city surely makes Pune one of the country's most desired IT locations today.
