Bharti, DS Construction, DLF Asked To Give Tie-up Details For Mumbai & Delhi Airports
Section Business & Industry Posted on Sun Aug 08, 2004 at 11:56:28 PM EST
The aviation ministry has sought clarification from Bharti Enterprises, DS Construction and DLF on nature of tie-ups they have formed for taking part in the race for Delhi and Mumbai airports. Ten companies had expressed interest in the projects and sources said financial consultant ABN Ambro has shot of letters seeking details from most of them.
Stating that a final view on the offers has not been taken, officials said ABN Amro is scrutinising the 10 offers and is likely to submit its report to the inter-ministerial group (IMG) on Thursday. The consultant is expected to evaluate bids on the basis of their networth, technical capabilities and track record in managing international airports. The bidding consortium should have a networth of Rs 500 crore to qualify for the projects. The combined networth of prime members will be considered for this. Besides the three, the other companies which had submitted EoIs for airport modernisation projects at Mumbai and Delhi include Reliance, Videocon, GMR, Essel and GVK. IMG will shortlist eligible candidates on the basis of ABN Amro’s evaluation of bidders. The list will then be put up to the empowered group of ministers (EGoM). The EGoM is likely to meet before the Budget session of Parliament resumes. It will formally announce the name of successful candidates who will be offered the bid documents. Successful candidates will then submit their request for proposals along with architectural plans, which will be vetted by the technical advisor Airplan. Financial bids will be submitted after pre-bid consultations with qualifying consortia.
