BJP-Partner Shiv Sena's Bal Thackeray Raises Doubts over National Democratic Alliance's Very Existen

Raising doubts over existence of NDA, Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray said on Thursday that most of the partners of the NDA had left the alliance and the Sena was one of the few still remaining with them. "Where is NDA? The moment the NDA government came down, most of the allies moved out of the partnership," he said after releasing the Speaker's Diary, written by former Lok Sabha Speaker Manohar Joshi in Mumbai on Thursday.

When asked whether NDA should be dismantled, Thackeray replied in the negative.

Replying to a query, he said his party had put up a candidate to the post of Rajya Sabha deputy chairman because the BJP-led NDA had not consulted them while announcing their support to the Congress candidate. "We want to condemn the BJP-led NDA's move to support Congress candidate without consulting the Sena. We should have been consulted," Thackeray said.
